Plumbase donates World Cup Football to Special Needs Unit
PLUMBASE DONATES ENGLAND FOOTBALL TABLE TO SPECIAL NEEDS UNIT
As World Cup football fever is gripping the country, a local plumber’s merchant has donated a football table to Bursledon House, part of Southampton Central Hospital which provides support for children with special needs. Plumbase in Millbrook Road, Southampton, presented the table in the first week of the World Cup fixtures.
Plumbase has donated the £300 football table to the General Paediatric & Child Mental Health Unit at the hospital. It will be set up at Bursledon House so that children attending the facility can relax and socialise with a game of table football. The table is decorated in England colours and has the FIFA England national crest of three lions.
Neil Pedley, manager at Southampton Plumbase, said: “I know that most of our customers and staff are getting very excited about the World Cup and we are pleased to be able to help children at the unit get involved as well. My son has attended the unit recently and I’m very aware of the valuable work they do there. We hope the children will enjoy using the table during the World Cup and afterwards.
“Any toys or equipment for Bursledon House is provided through donations or fundraising so I know the table will be much appreciated. Plumbase is a local business that likes to contribute to the community where it trades and this is our way of saying thank you.”
Plumbase is a plumber’s merchant that supplies heating and plumbing engineers and members of the public. Plumbase has teamed up with one of its major manufacturers, Rothenberger Plumbing Tools, to supply the football table.
