Plumbase donates football table to local special school

As the World Cup reaches its closing stages, a local plumber’s merchant is donating a football table to Hedgewood School, a school for children with special needs in Weymouth Road, Hayes.  Plumbase, located in the Clayton Business Centre, will be presenting the £300 table to headteacher, John Goddard, accompanied by Dylan, a pupil at the school whose father is Stuart Mayes, manager at Hayes Plumbase.

The football table will be set up at the school so that students can relax and socialise with a game of table football at break times and after the school day has finished.  The table is decorated in England colours and has the FIFA England national crest of three lions.

Stuart Mayes, manager at Hayes Plumbase, said: “I know we are all rather disappointed that England have not gone further in this World Cup but the tournament has gripped the nation in past weeks.  Most of our customers and staff have followed it avidly and the children at Hedgewood School have also got caught up in World Cup fever.

“We’re pleased to be able to donate the table so that pupils of all ages can have their own football entertainment today and for years to come.

“Plumbase is a local business that likes to contribute to the community where it trades and this is our way of saying thank you.”

Plumbase is a plumber’s merchant that supplies heating and plumbing engineers and members of the public.  Plumbase has teamed up with one of its major manufacturers, Rothenberger Plumbing Tools, to supply the football table.
