Plumbase donate football table in time for the World Cup day at Lansbury Bridge School

Plumbase donates football table to Lansbury bridge school

As World Cup football fever is gripping the country, a local plumber’s merchant has donated a football table to Lansbury Bridge School so that pupils can take part in their own football contests.  Representatives from Plumbase branches at Gaskell Street in St Helens and Woodhouse Lane Industrial Estate in Wigan presented the £300 table to children at the school when they had a World Cup day.  Pupils were encouraged to wear their England football strips and have a go on the football table.

“I know that most of our customers and staff are getting caught up in the World Cup and we’re pleased to be able to help children at the school get involved as well,” says Peter Jackson, manager at Plumbase in Wigan.  “When we delivered the table the children were wearing their England shirts and couldn’t wait to play with it.

“The school used to have a football table but, through wear and tear it had fallen to pieces.  The new one couldn’t have come at a better time and we hope they have many happy hours, playing with it.”

Lansbury Bridge School is a special school, designed to meet the needs of children with complex learning difficulties. It has 170 places for children with a range of needs and was formed following the closure of Hamblett and Hurst schools in 2005.  Lansbury Bridge School has been a designated Specialist Sports College since September 2006 and has excellent sporting facilities.

Plumbase is a plumber’s merchant that supplies heating and plumbing engineers and members of the public.  Plumbase has teamed up with one of its major manufacturers, Rothenberger Plumbing Tools, to supply the football table.
