Children's ward receives a World Cup football table
Plumbase donates England football table to children’s ward
As World Cup football fever is gripping the country, a local plumber’s merchant is donating a football table to the Padua Children’s Ward at William Harvey Hospital. Plumbase on Broadoak Trading Estate in Canterbury, will be presenting the £300 table as the World Cup group fixtures are played out in South Africa.
The £300 football table will be set up in the children’s ward so that young patients attending the facility can relax and socialise with a game of table football. The table is decorated in England colours and has the FIFA England national crest of three lions.
Andy Hurford, manager at Canterbury Plumbase, said: “I know that most of our customers and staff are getting very excited as the World Cup progresses. We’re pleased to be able to donate the table so that children having to spend time in hospital will be able to have their own football entertainment.
“My children have had treatment on the Padua Ward so I’m very aware of the valuable work they do there. The staff are fantastic and it’s a superb local facility. We hope the children, and the staff, will enjoy using the table during the World Cup and afterwards.
“Plumbase is a local business that likes to contribute to the community where it trades and this is our way of saying thank you.”
Plumbase is a plumber’s merchant that supplies heating and plumbing engineers and members of the public. Plumbase has teamed up with one of its major manufacturers, Rothenberger Plumbing Tools, to supply the football table.
